Response review: require staff acceptance or corrections
Open Service settings → Response review and enable Require review in Response Hub when staff should accept submitted responses or return them for changes.
Setting reference
| Setting | Property / default | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Require review in Response Hub | responseHubReviewRequired; string true/false, default false, including Collection forms. | New submissions enter the staff claim, feedback, accept/return review process. |
Save and deploy an ordinary service through Environments. For a managed Collection form, save it and explicitly apply the saved revision from its Collection programme. Saving the designer alone does not change the active Collection form.
Understand when it applies
The setting applies to new submissions. Turning it off does not prevent staff finishing existing reviews. Review access still depends on Response Hub being enabled and the user's library/environment permissions.
This setting is separate from a Review page action, which pauses a configured workflow and can invite named reviewers. Do not add a workflow Review action merely to enable Response Hub review.
Return useful feedback
Staff can claim a response, add shared correction instructions and relevant answer issues, then return it for changes. Respondents see those instructions and issues on Check answers. Internal notes in Team handling are for staff and are not respondent correction instructions.
Review the submitted revision and any retained file evidence before deciding. A processing status is not an acceptance decision. Services that take payment cannot use a review to require edits to already-paid accepted answers or return a paid response for correction.
Test the full review cycle
In QA, submit a new response, claim it, return a specific issue, sign back in as the respondent, correct and resubmit, then accept it. Test permissions, feedback visibility, amendment history and the applicable Collection policy. Confirm the active service/form revision contains the intended review setting.
