AI capabilities overview
Govform uses AI to help teams create, understand and maintain digital services. Darcy works alongside you in the Builder; focused AI tools help with PDF mapping and library branding; MCP connects authorised AI clients to the platform.
AI in the Builder
These capabilities support the people designing and operating services. You can inspect the resulting service, refine it in the Builder and test it before release.
- Darcy AI assistance — ask product questions, explain the selected service, improve content, make targeted changes and investigate prototype behaviour.
- Darcy AI form build — create a draft service from a written brief, uploaded documents or a conversation, then review and refine the journey.
- AI auto-mapping — suggest PDF answer positions and find the service field that belongs in an individual mapping box.
- Website-based library styling — use an organisation website as the starting point for shared branding.
- Version comparisons — explain meaningful changes between saved service versions and identify changes since deployment.
- MCP integrations — let a connected AI client work through structured tools with explicit library and data permissions.
Coming soon: AI in end-user journeys
Configurable classification and summarisation are coming soon. These planned features will operate within a service journey using configuration chosen by its builder.
- Classification — classify supplied content into builder-defined buckets, each with a description of what belongs there.
- Summarisation — produce a focused summary using builder-defined instructions, for uses such as pre-population or a derived field.
The coming-soon pages explain the intended behaviour and illustrate service-design choices. They are not instructions for settings available in the current Builder.
Choose the right approach
Use Darcy when a designer wants to discuss or change a service. Use a focused mapping or branding tool for its particular setup task. Use MCP when the work should happen through a connected client. Planned runtime AI will process the inputs configured for a deployed journey.
Continue to use normal validation, conditions, calculations and lookups for exact business rules. AI assistance can help configure those rules; generated content and suggestions still need to be checked against your requirements.
Access and review
Darcy's change mode controls whether it can edit, must ask first, or provides advice only. Your Govform role still determines which operations are permitted. MCP has separate grants for service designs and Response Hub data. Building with Darcy does not by itself grant a connected client access to live submissions.
